Parental Controls for BT Home Broadband

BT Parental Controls

Features and Benefits

BT’s Parental Controls allow you to restrict certain types of websites, specific websites or set restricted access times on all devices connected to the BT Home Hub and when connected to a UK BT WiFi hotspot using your BT ID. The filter level can be pre-set to strict, moderate or light filtering as well as giving you a customisable filter option.

What specific content can I restrict?

Pornography & Adult Nudity, Drugs, Alcohol and Tobacco, Hate & Self Harm, Weapons and Violence, Gambling, Fashion and Beauty, Sex Education, Dating, Social Networking, File sharing, Online Games, Media Streaming, Obscene and Search Engines.

What do you need?

A ‘My BT’ account – you will need your BT ID and Password.

If you haven’t signed up, you will need a contact email address and your BT account number – these will need to match the ones that are at the top of your BT bill.

Step-By-Step

1. Go to: home.bt.com/login/loginform and log in using your BT ID and Password.

If you haven’t got an account, click the ‘Sign up’ button instead.

2. Scroll down to ‘My Extras’ and click ‘Activate’ on the BT Parental Controls panel.

3. You will then see a page telling you that BT are activating your Parental Controls. You will be activated with the ‘light’ filter setting.

A confirmation screen will appear to confirm this. Set up may take up to 2 hours.

4. Once activated, you can then select ‘Personalise your settings’ to create custom settings, or set a predefined option (Strict, Moderate, Light).
